It’s Great to be Grateful

With Thanksgiving fast approaching, enjoying succulent turkey leg and rich, yummy pumpkin pie are the least of our thoughts. Instead, we’re taking a moment to reflect on what we’re grateful for. Our administrator and teacher friends have shared what they’re thankful for, and the responses they gave were inspiring. We’re excited to share their thoughts with you!

  • I’m grateful for recess duty on a beautiful autumn afternoon! It’s a great break from the normal classroom routine and allows me to soak up the sunshine and fresh air while keeping an eye on students.
  • I’m grateful for the chance to see almost all of my students staying focus on the task at hand. It’s a small but important win, particularly for those who struggle with classroom behavior.
  • I’m thankful for the opportunity to actually teach after completing screening and testing. Being able to finally dive headfirst into innovative, hands-on activities brings excitement to my day.
  • I’m thankful for breaks, including fall breaks, winter breaks, and spring breaks! It’s a time to recharge, spend time with family and friends and indulge in fun activities.
  • I’m grateful to be an ESL teacher this year! Seeing my ELL students engage in conversation using their newly acquired English is a joy.
  • I’m so grateful for my “teacher bestie” who always leaves a Starbucks on my desk when she knows that I’ve been having a rough week. It’s a sweet gesture that goes a long way in making my day brighter.
  • I’m thankful for our cute matching grade-level T-shirts! It may sound simple, but wearing our fun shirts once in a while helps me to stay connected to my colleagues and to feel a sense of camaraderie.
  • I’m grateful for being able to see ‘lightbulb moments’ in kids that have struggled with a particular concept.
  • I’m grateful to have the freedom to be creative in my classroom. It’s a chance to be myself and to incorporate my own style. My friends in the corporate world don’t have this opportunity.
  • Having the support of school administration is something that I’m very thankful for. Knowing that I have someone in my corner who sees my hard work and supports my needs is a priceless feeling.

At GrapeSEED, we’re grateful for family, students, and school staff at every level. We’re more than thankful for educators who are passionate about what they do and are finding joy in the small moments! Huge thanks to all administrators and teachers who’ve shared their words of gratitude with us.
